another sneaky post

inbetween trying to understand the philosopher Levinas and working in Topshop, im making sneaky purchases, i re-bought the Unique suede skirt this morning because it went even further down Topshop's second markdown, im going to refund the one i bought 2 weeks ago at the higher price and thus have a little extra money refunded back!
erm... i also sort of bought the Wknd scarf yesterday because it came back in stock on Ashtray for about a few hours before selling out yet again.

and no..... i havn't bought the T by Alexander Wang :( yet.........
Photobucket
thats where you come in :)
i need your help, do i buy or not?
i have been craving this vest it seems for forever and i fell in love with it after trying it on in Selfridges. i have however felt a little uncomfortable with the price £65
but while browsing Revolve clothing i noticed they only charge $10 for international postage and since the T by Alexander Wang is $75 there, that would mean i'd only pay $85 (about £57) which is cheaper than getting the vest in the UK.

so..... what do you think? bare in mind i've already spent quite a lot on clothes recently and it is still over £50 for a small piece of cloth.
is it an investment or not or should i even wait a while?hmmm...

oh yeah, better get back to my lovely philosophy assignment!whoops!

I would be the worst person to give out advice about spending but I see the vest as an investment rather than unnecessary!!

GET IT!

It's black, it's versitle, it's simple and beautiful and above all it's WANG!

Love this wee blog, check it everyday! xx

Oooooh i want the wang vest!!
Im probably not the best person to listen to, but i love it and you can wear it with almost anything. Would you have to pay custms and import tax? Im always scared of buying from the US because of that. I think its if its under a certain ammount though. I LOVE IT! I think you should get it, its perfect for summer!

Hello! If you're going to get the top from Revolve I would call/email them first to see if it's eligible for the first order 30% discount. retailmenot.com also might have some other discount codes. Maybe that will help your decision!

gaahh i know what you mean about the A. Wang top...i bought mine a few months ago and havent had the chance to wear it yet but i feel like because i spent so much on it, i'd be too scared to wear it for fear of ruining it!
i looove the fit though. hope this helps with your decision!

I love the scarf! The vest looks so good and you could wear it with everything. Although I'm not sure I should be giving out advice since I like to encourage others to spend so I feel less guilty...

Thanks so much for the ebay heads up! I really shouldn't be spending anymore money but ohhhh well. It's on the watch list now. They've got the black version in the topshop here but i just adore the nude too much.

Good luck with the final exam! xx

I'm going against the grain here and says maybe wait a little longer? I think it is still quite pricy for a vest, and you might find something else that's really nice for the same price (dresses, shoes, jacket etc) in the mean time.

Mind you if you're going to wear it all the time then it's worth it. Think about pay per wear!

I love that top as well, but i say don't do it. You can get almost the same one lot of other places and get 3 for the same price as that one. I think you should wait a while and maybe it will get cheaper. But i am like the cheapest person ever!

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your comment and for reading my blog :) I completely agree, I really would only wear that top as a pj top, I saw a similar one on topshop recently (which I think you said you'd bought in a past blog) and I think that would have been so much better as it looked on the website to be more fitted. An outfit shot with that crop on you would show her how to wear it properly :) plus it's sold out online now in my size and I'm not sure whether to invest on ebay! :)

I'm always in hanley, I live in crewe and I can't stand the shops near me so I always prefer to drive the extra distance to get something decent! I'll be sure to say hi next time I see you in there :) Your job is my dream job!

I can see what you mean about this alexander wang vest, it is absolutely gorgeous and so versatile it's not like you wouldn't get the wear out of it, but £57 is a lot for a vest you could probabaly find similar versions of on the high street...but having said this, it is Alexander Wang and how exciting would it be to be asked where it's from ust to reply; "it's Alexander Wang". I'd definately get it! :)

Thank you again for reading my blog and leaving a comment :) Kate ♥

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I work a Next and thought it would be a wise decision. I figured they didn't make anything I'd want to buy, yet they've really surprised me the last few seasons! The harem pants were a bargain as well for around £10 with my discount.

My current thrifty self would say that it is a very extravagant price for just a vest. However, common sense tells me that you should invest in your basics and then scrimp on more trend-lead items. A basic vest you will wear for years. Also if you tried to buy a cheaper alternative, you know it won't be the same and you'll still be dreaming of the vest. If you're anything like me, you'll buy a cheaper version, be bitterly disappointed and end up splurging anyway. I'm such a hypocrite, but I'd say buy it!

That is extortionate for a vest! You could easily make your own by cutting the sleeves and bottom off a large tshirt. I think it would be worth having a look on the high street too (maybe somewhere like Urban Outfitters or Topshop) and see if you can find something similar - maybe you could treat yourself to lots of different colours??

I would probably only pay that amount on something special - like some Levi jeans that I know I'll always wear, a winter coat or a dress for a special occasion.

Good Luck with your exams! We'll all need it ;) xxx

I really love that tank by A wang too! I hope you get it in your mits though babygirl. I can not give you any advice because I just buy blindly. Anyway, you always make the best outfits known to man. "I have a crush on a girl in england" haha.

I miss you dearly, China L.

Well .. they all are looking good, I know how it feels to want something, but lately I have been good with my money, coz I try to ask my self "Do I need it?", if the answer is yes, I ask my self another "Do I really need it?", if the answer is still yes, I ask my self with another "Do you want it or do you need it?", well I have to be honest with my self, so I try to walk around the store or go home and think about it, while I open my closet, I always get "the answer" hehe maybe you can try to do the same ;)
