what i wore/bought today...

1. turtle neck jumper by American Apparel, cashmere white vest by Boutique for Topshop, leather A-Line skirt from Topshop.
2. oatmeal coat from Topshop ( i got this one in the sale this week and used a voucher i was given, meant the coat just cost me £10!what a bargain)
3. my new Doc Marten brogues in dark brown - i adore them and cant stop wearing them!
4. a few things i picked up in the local charity shop this weekend; Amelie and Bright Young Things dvd, diamante necklace, deer and horse illustrated blank cards, oversized oatmeal mens jumper, butterflies in a glass case, This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald and Therese Raquin by Emile Zola.

i've always noticed that with charity shops i seem to go through a dry spell every so often, it usually lasts a few weeks and then suddenly one or two trips will leave me with a dozen or so purchases! this weekend was one of those lucky ones and i manged to find some real gems hidden amongst the Primark/Per Una piles. im in love with my butterfly case as i've been on the hunt for one for a while, even to the point of having several in my 'watching' list on eBay, so i definately skipped to the counter to hand over the £2 for that!
this most likely means i shall be subject to another dry spell soon and find nothing whatsoever for the next few weeks, oh well! has anyone else managed to nab anything good in the charity shops recently?

Love your finds! That butterfly case is lovely. I'm actually going through one of your so-called 'dry spells' at the moment. Can't remember the last time I stumbled across anything worth buying x

Great haul! I love it when you spot great finds like these! Loving the butterflies and the deer picture. Ooh and that jumper is so nice, looks cosy!

I am on a charity shop mission this week for something to wear to an 80s prom. Problem is whenever you go charity shopping with something particular in mind you never have any luck :s

i know what you mean about the dry spells. all that primark and old M&S stuff gets boring. The best things I ever got from charity shops was a camel coloured coat with gold buttons for £10 and a silk leopard print shirt for £3.50. I love them both so much

oh wow, I'm very envious of your finds! I've had a fair few cases of butterflies on the old eBay watch list in my time so go you for finding one for £2! They're so expensive on ebay.

And in love the AA jumper big time. Am I imagining it or does it have bat wings? Think I saw it in store a couple of weeks ago. x

I have the same shoes ^_^ I love them, wore them almost every day!

And the butterfly case is such a great find, the last good thing I bought in the charity shops is my knitted sheep cardigan, cost 8pounds though :-(

I picked up a coffee coloured leather pencil skirt in my local charity shop not so long ago. A bit pinchy, but since it was so cheap I feel brave enough to try cutting it up to improve the fit. I'm very jealous of your butterflies, what a find! I love those sorts of quirky decorations - I hope you find somewhere nice to hang them :). xx

I haven't set my eyes on one of those butterfly collections since browsing the ones my dad bought years and years ago! Your finds look lovely and that jumper is a real treat!

I never get much look with chairty shops, they're not too great around these ends!

Can't believe you paid £10 for that coat, what a bargain! it's so nice.

Is there anywhere where I can watch all the stylist challenge videos from the next bloggers event you attended?

I know this is an outfit post but really drawn to the butterfly case gorgeous, and it's ironic how I came through Jil's 'butterfly effect' post, and you have this lovely display

I went to the antiques fair today, and I bought a frame with 4 butterflies in it. It's so pretty! :) I like your butterflies in the glass case as well. :)
